Be a player in the New Community Studio!
You can make a difference at BITV.
As a non-profit organization, donations from the community
are necessary to provide services and replace equipment. We have many needs and there are numerous ways to help support BITV. You can sponsor a program you want to see like youth sports, cultural events, public affairs and even national programs. You can show your support as a Station Sponsor; donate to our youth scholarship fund and give our island youth a chance to learn a skill that will last a lifetime; or be a player in our "Live" Studio Capital Campaign so we can provide a place for the individuals to create community programs. Every donation helps.
Membership is a great way to join the BITV community and provide much needed support.
And check out the cool stuff in our store and be seen around town as a supporter with BITV apparel.
Thanks!
All of us at BITV would like to thank our contributors. Your support whether recently, or in the past, continues to have an meaningful impact on youth and community involvement in BITV.
For one thing, we used your gift to fund our youth education programs. Your generosity helps provide quality instruction and the tools necessary to enlighten our students about meaningful communication. Because of you, BITV is a leader among other public access centers in the quality of its educational programs. BITV is filling an important education niche in our community, providing students with the communication and presentation skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century.
Some of our other accomplishments include:
- Increased programs from 221 airings in 2002 to more than 11,000 shows in 2006
- Assisted 80 non profit agencies promote their missions through television
- Partnered with local schools to augment their curriculums
- Partnered with businesses to commmunicate important community stories
- Provided community producers with tools to document community events
- Provided global access to channel 12 content via streaming media
- Converted to an all-digital content delivery system
- Upgraded our messaging and automation systems
Local television can be vital in connecting a community. BITV is committed to make Bainbridge Island more enjoyable by providing valuable communication and education services, and providing our community the very best in local relevant content. Whether it’s public affairs, the good work of community organizations, youth sports, cultural activities or emergency information, BITV has enormous potential to enhance this community.
So how does BITV become a more valuable community asset? One way is to engage more individuals in television communication. There are many community stories that need to be told and with your help we can provide more individuals access to inform, educate and entertain via television.
Some of our goals include:
- Advancing our education program to include more schools and students
- Providing opportunity for individuals and organizations to share their thoughts, stories and needs to large audiences
- Providing a community studio for news, talk shows, performances, education programs and hosting community discussions
- Making local television a valuable community resource
In the coming weeks we will tell you more about our live studio capital campaign to create community news, talk shows, performance, and education programs. A studio is considered one of the most fundamental elements in television content development, yet BITV has never had one. Its exciting to imagine the impact a studio will have on this community.
